I find BFHP useful for research, but I won't bother engaging in conversation anymore. And the authors haven't done much of anything to improve the forum software in years, not to mention failing to moderate the interaction that goes on.
Example of a typical BFHP thread:
Original poster: "I'm looking at a 1996 Stratos 268 with a 90 Evinrude. Wonder if anyone has any experience with this rig?"
Poster #2: "My friend's mother's cousin's barber had a 1986 Stratos, I think it was a 17 footer. Transom rotted out after just 12 years. They don't build a good boat."
Poster #3: "You won't be happy with that boat without at least a 150. It's a heavy hull."
Poster #4: "Check out the Cobra 180. I think you'll like it."
Won Hunglo: "Sent you an email."
Poster #5: "Hey Won, how'd you do in that tourney last week?"
Poster #6: "Poster #2, you don't know what the $#^*)!*# you're talking about, so shut up. Stratos didn't make a 17 footer in 1986."
Won Hunglo: "Did ok. Sent you an email."
Poster #7: "You might want to look at getting a 21 footer now. You can find some great used rigs. You'll never miss the extra $25K you'll spend, and you won't have to worry about upgrading later. I have a 2000 Triton 21PD listed in the boats for sale section. It's absolutely loaded and only $32K. Email me if you are interested."
Poster #2: "Poster #6, who the !@#$@#$! asked you? I've had a bass boat since I was 3, and have fished out of plenty of others. Can probably outfish you while I'm sleeping."
