Ok, what is the consensus here? I have used KnB's Clean and shine... wondering what is the best way to maintain the gel coat and interior?

Protec, 303, and alot of others get high marks from others... looking for the best in both quick cleans and long term care.

what products do you all use, and results?

Also, how often do you wash/wax? I generally give it a good wipedown at the ramp, then go over it with the KnB stuff at home...

I wash my boat once every week or two. I use 3M Clean and Shine Wax once a month on the top cap. I do the top and sides at the end of the season. My boat is garaged and does not see the sun unless I'm using it.

I rinse and wipe after every trip, wash with boat soap every 3rd or so trip, and straight wax it once a month or so. If I see a little oxidation, I get out the light compound/wax as soon as I get home (my Gambler is older so it happens occasionally).....................sa

I wipe down the boat after every outing to get the "scum line" off the side of the boat (we have red dirt in oklahoma, and if your on the lake all day, some of it wants to stay on the side of the boat). About every 2 or three weeks depending on usage, I use starbrite cleaner as it has no wax. Every 3 to 4 weeks a quick spray of 303. I've used 303 for a year now and I really like the stuff. It works on everything including the rub rail, the chrome, the seats, the dash, and even the trolling motor bracket. It blocks the UV from the sun and is the quickest and sure method I have found. I do not believe that wax hods up very well nor is it really meant for plastic.

I use a generic brand of spray cleaner..ie 409, etc...on the scum line, oil drops, anything like that...Then wipe down with 3M Marine cleaner Wax Spray...Then, periodically, a regular clean/wash and wax, again with 3M... Boat is a Tracker (Aluminum) and it looks great to me... I am sure that glass is a whole different ballgame.
