OK Mo, Here's the highlights I will remember...
Thursday night:
Checking in at the Stonehelm...always memorable...LOL
Finally met Mac, Ken and Rick at Robs house. We had introductions and few a laughs but it was obvious that Mac and Ken were exhausted from a long day on the road. They left shortly after I got there and went back to the hotel.
Got back to Stonehelm. Boats and guys kept rolling in. Met Eric, Bill and Eric's 901.
Friday Morning:
Rob comes knocking around 6am.. Do you think he had coffee and donuts?? Nooooo! Some host...LOL
We get to the ramp and now there is about 6 or 8 boats. Mine, Mac's, Buzz's, Eric's, Tom's, Magna's & I appologize because I know I'm forgetting someone. I have to say how impressed I was watching everyone launch. I am so used to waiting in line behind weekend warriors that take FOREVER to get a boat on a trailor. I was impressed with the way we could launch like 2 boats per minute or faster..
Well we were all floating around letting engines warm up, we got our bows pointing North and we all punched it.. I sware we looked like a group of F-16's flying together in formation as we blasted across the lake. TOGETHER in one big pack of Nitro's and Trackers... We were all looking around at eachother with huge smiles and giving eachother the old thumbs up.. We were crusing at 40mph for a while then everyone had enough playing with me.. I was running WOT then the rest of them stepped on it and pulled away like I was standing still....LOL That was definately one of my favorite parts of the weekend..
Friday after noon we are all standing around the ramp telling lies about the fish we caught that day. Ken comes up to me and says "Marke, Mac's waiting for you" My chin just dropped..I turned around there was this Perty blue sparkly boat sitting there waiting for me. I can't remember the last time I ran so fast. I hopped into the passenger seat and Mac said "Oh no, your sitting over there" as he points to the drivers seat. I felt like kid driving a car for the time. Huge smile, hands shaking, blood pumping and all adrenaline...Then I stepped on the throttle and away we went. Once the nose came down I worked the trim and we were flying.. I've never done 65mph in a boat before but it was AWESOME!!!
Saturday morning was hell on the water. Mike and I decided on Friday night to split up and leave the TV-18 at the hotel. Since there was room we decided Mike and I could learn more from fishing with different partners. Thank god we made that decision because I would have been scared to death driving out there. I hope I never experience water that rough again. As you know, Rob and I won.
After weigh in, as if driving Mac's boat wasn't awesome enough, I got to drive Bassn'fools Avalanche. One word.....SSSWWWEEEETTTT!!!!!!!!!! Different weight distribution which gives an unbelievable hole shot. The bow hardly comes up at all allowing the driver to see the whole time. I can't say enough good things about that boat.
Saturday night at the turtle was a blast. I finally got to talk to everyone. There were some great raffle prizes handed out. (which I was not elidgeable for cuz I won the tourney)
Back at the stonehelm it was Corona's and Brodeurs until about mid-night at pierres boat.
Sunday morning: we launch, we take off, I look around and there is one Nitro behind me. I'm thinking "Why haven't they passed me yet"? So I keep going, I get to my spot, start fishing and then comes Pierre right behind me.....LOL
Let me tell you, it feels pretty good when a Pro follows you to your spot the day after you win a tourney..
After an awesome day on the lake it was a long ride home..and the Rally was over.
Sorry the post was so long, but you asked for it. I even generously left out some stuff. The whole weekend was a story in itself. You ask why no one is posting? I
