My Trailstar trailer came equiped w/ grease fittings under the decorative hubs. The fitting is then sealed over by a rubber plug. Does this factory system negate the need for me to buy the Bearing Buddy type system?

Thanks,

Yep it sure does. What to do it remove the plug every once and a while and pump some new grease in there. It will force the grease thru the rear bearing and then out the front. Its a good system, i have had them on me last two boats and have trailered for well over 100k with them and never a problem. I personally dont like bearing buddies, they are too easy to overfill and then blow out the rear seal.

Some years ago I had that same seal problem when I installed a set of Bearing Buddies. Wasn't to difficult to repair but makes the purchase of them a waste of money. I currently have a Trailstar and like the design. I don't have a water problem and when I give it a shot of grease I pump in enough to see the old getting pushed out and new following it.

The EZ lube hubs(which you have) to me are by far better than the Bearing Buddy system because you are always flushing the old grease out with new:) Just twocent
