Thanks to advice from a couple of regulars here on the board I've looked into Bass Pro's replicas for largemouth bass. Maybe it's only news to me but I was surprised to find they have a taxidermy service called "Wildlife Creations". They'll mount the real thing or create a replica from measurements and photos. The replicas for largemouth bass are $220 for under 27 inches and $250 for anything 27 inches and over. The price includes the wood panel (and the name plate - I think). Taxes and shipping are extra. The feedback I've heard indicates they do a very good job.

Having the actual fish mounted is a flat rate of $200 for for largemouth bass, however you do have to get the fish to them and that will cost something. For the small difference in cost and knowing the real trophy is still out there reproducing, and may be caught by some other lucky angler, the replica is the way to go.

Here is the URL for the Wildlife Creations site -

Has anyone tried this BPS services? If so how does it look? I want to get a couple of mounts done and I have been looking around. You can see the fish I want to get mounted in my member folder.

Thanks!

Craig,

Thanks for the feedback. That 9.7 pound bass is huge, especially for Massachusetts. It's huge here.

How long did it take for the replica to be made and shipped to you?
