how do u use the Bass Magic swim bait.? I'm using a gamakatsu hook #74416-25 super line ewg and when a flip hte lure and re-treave it it spind around and around. I know that the hook is traight thru the middle of the lure. What I'm i doing wrong?

You can get hooks designed for the swim baits or put a bullet weight at the front. Each gives the bait a different action.

As far a show much weight, it depends on how you are going to fish it.

Check out the link: If it wont work cut and paste it to your browser

Get a rubber core sinker, remove the rubber and place it on the hook at its lowest point. mash it with some pliers to keep it there. Use a 1/4 oz to start. keep increasing until you get the desired results.

You need weight on the hook. If it doesn't spin, it will at least rise to the surface as the tail works as a rudder to raise the bait. There are two hooks I would recommend. One is the Mustad ultra point power lock plus. The weight can be moved back and forth for desired action. The other is a hook based on one made by Falcon with a screw that locks into the nose of the bait. There are many knock offs on ebay that do just fine being as though the Falcons are hard to come by.

I use swim baits alot but this particular one seems to spin like you said. Yes, I do use a weighted hook, still spins. Im working on a solution.

Although those aren't real swimbaits ;)

make sure the sinker is fastened to the hook close to the bend near the top. 1/16 and 1/8 seems to work best for 3.5 and 4.5 size. THEY CATCH FISH
