I just got the below email, anybody else get it yet?

Dear Federation Member:

For more than 35 years, B.A.S.S. and the B.A.S.S. Chapter Federations

have worked together to promote camaraderie, competition, conservation

and youth participation. Our collaborative efforts have been a shining

example of how caring individuals can make a real difference.

At B.A.S.S. we are fervently committed to building on this legacy and

have an exciting new program to offer. We call it the B.A.S.S.

"Federation Nation(R)."

The Federation Nation will take B.A.S.S.' considerable investment in

the Federation a giant step forward by growing Federation membership at

the state, national and international levels, dramatically improving

lines of communication, improving member services, increasing funding

for conservation at the state and local level, growing support for youth

and education efforts - all in an effort to make the Federation the most

rewarding experience for members.

In addition to the benefits you now receive from your B.A.S.S. and

Federation membership including BASS Times, insurance, and priority

entry into the various B.A.S.S. tournament trails, here are some of the

new benefits that will be available through the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation:

* B.A.S.S. Insider Membership with annual B.A.S.S. base membership and

B.A.S.S. Federation Nation affiliation ($35 annual value)

* Federation Nation section within B.A.S.S. Insider

* Bassmaster University Discounts

* Weekend Series Bonus Program

* B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Club Field Tester Program

* B.A.S.S. STUFF Merchandise Discounts

B.A.S.S. Federation Nation benefits will also extend to conservation and

youth initiatives:

* Valuable liaison with the National Fish Habitat Action Plan Initiative

and "More Fish"

* Annual endowment of $1,000 to each state Federation Nation for habitat

efforts

* Discount on Berkley fish habitat ("Fish-Habs")

* B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Conservation College Scholarship Program

* Creation of B.A.S.S. Conservation Action Support Teams

* Travel assistance for Junior World Championship contenders

Competition has always been a cornerstone of the Federation, and the

Federation Nation will see major improvements in our tournament structure,

payouts and coverage:

* Dramatic increases to the payout for the Federation National Championship

* Creation of the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Bass Club World Championship

These are just a few of the highlights. For a fuller listing of B.A.S.S.

Federation Nation benefits, please visit Bassmaster.com.

In all, B.A.S.S.' total investment in the Federation Nation will be

almost $4 million!

We believe the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation has an extremely bright future

and look forward to working with you. Together we can continue to

accomplish great things, grow and protect our sport and build a strong

future for the next generation of bass anglers.

Sincerely,

Don Rucks

Vice President & General Manager B.A.S.S.

Ya! I got one of those emails also. Everything I've read so far says they're really trying to put the shaft to the Federations. They said just enough to make a lot of people want this but never gave any of the specific costs or whats in the contract to which you will have to sign to be a member. A lot of interpetation right or wrong of whats between the lines. I like what the one columnist said over on the basspro.com network. Say yes to all,( ESPN, FLW, and Bassfan and who ever else but stay independant and associated with the TBF Inc. Why do the Federations have to choose anyone? We can belong to all and maintain our independence and pick and choose when and where we'll participate and still receive all the benefits if they want us to participate.:(:huh::wacko:

Here's some additional info taken off from the West Coast Federation Site::angry::angry::angry:

All,
