I'm in New Orleans for a wedding and got here the day of the Saints parade. What a crowd.Any suggestions on great places to eat not in the french quarter? We are in the Garden district. We ate at Pascals last night. The best ever.

I used to live in New Orleans but now live in Lafayette. But I do know some great places to eat. There's a great resturant on the St. Bernard highway in Chalmette called Rocky's. It has the best po-boys. Get the roast beef and make sure you get napkins. There were some good seafood resturants at the Lakefront, but I don't know if Katrina did them in. I belive that the Acme Oyster House at the Lakefront should be up and running. Also in Kenner there's Copeland's of New Orleans and in Metairie there is Deanie's Seafood. Lastly at the Harrah's Casino at the end of Canal Street they have the Besh Steakhouse. But be careful of what time you go because there will be parades all over the City.

Bon appetite!!!

Mother's, down by the river. I never make a trip to the Big Easy without a visit (or two, or three... ) to Mother's. Po-Boys, black ham & muffalettas, gumbo,....all the good stuff at a great price. If you're lucky, you'll get a table. If not, just get it to go. You won't regret it! ;) :D
