I have 2002 pt 175.Has and one added a built in baitwell like the ones u see in the crappie boats.I have a good spot far one right in front of the console.I am thinking u just could get the parts from the dealer far the crappie boat. The carpet would match and all that.I think u will have to put a hole in the hull to get fresh water.Anyone did it????/

Scott - I've got the Crappie boat, and have taken from front Baitwell completely apart this year. You would have to cut a hull in the deck/floor to run the plumbing and wires. The way the front one is designed if you mounted it flush up against the side of the boat, you'd only have to cut the floor hole (I can't remember how bit the hole was, but it was smaller than the bottom of the baitwell.

I would assume you can just order the parts from Tracker. I'd just send an e-mail to Craig Roberts at BPS in MI (get his e-mail from the Members section) and see what they've got.

Good luck and take pictures!

I will check the prices next time i go to BPS. I go every few weaks.I do a little crappie fishing to.How dose your baitwell get its water. Will i have to do a though the hull to get my water .If so i will have to think about it long amd hard.

Scott - Mine draws water from from the same line that comes from the back of the boat for my front live well (at least that's the way it looks). I see from the picture of the PT175 that your only livewell is in the back, that means you'll have to run the plumbing all the way under the decking to the front, that could be tough. I would definetly NOT drill thru the hull, too much chance of leaking and changing the dynamics/integrity of the hull. You'll probably have to take some of the decking off to get to the proper places, that will definetly be a BIG Project.

Your other choice might be to do what I did in my Jon boat - Buy a small cooler, a 12v aerator kit and just plug it into the 12v outlet by the console. It's not "installed" like a baitwell, but it is removable (you could even build some kind of mounting braket infront of the console and run a second 12v outlet flush on the front of the console.

Just and idea to keep you from tearing up your new boat decks.
