Tex, hate to break it to you, but those are LM, not smallies. Wicked footage though. Buzz's camera, the atlantis was much brighter than that. I guess what we've heard is true on clarity between the 2 different brands. And if you think that's cool, wait until I video tap my smallie spot and Buzz and I convert it to CD and mail it out for members to view. Ask Bob G, he saw how many fish can inhabit one area! Unreal. Then, what makes it really aggravating is when you see that, but they WON'T bite! Grounds for insanity!

Even when you throw a jig in there! maybe they are just camera shy.

Well they should, but not always. You would think so, but Doug and I sat in the tires and I watched him try jigs and a senko for at least 15 minutes. You could see the bass in the background checking it out, but they wouldn't hit it. They may have been scared of the camera, but it's awful small, I wouldn't think they would be. They don't get scared by the TM motor and it's 3 times the size and right there too.

Rob,

Wasn't me that called them smallies. Their site does. I thought the same thing though. But since I haven't 'looked' through a camera as yet, I didn't want to venture.

Those are largemouths, look how far the closed mouth extends beyond the eye, a smallies closed mouth doesn't go beyond the eye.

In order to see for myself......I did.

Those are smallmouth guys....

Wilbur, LM do have big broad tails. But after hearing from mini, I went back and looked again. We are all right. I slowed and froze several frames. The first fish as Wilbur said that comes right up to the camera IS a smallie. However, I looked at several others and they were LM. There is a mix. I have seen this before on similar structure. If only the picture were brighter and clearer. But I saw some of each. I have been snorkeling and watching both types of bass for many years, and logged a BUNCH of time with Buzz's Atlantis this season. I know each kind of fish when I can see them clearly.

I dodnt see a largemouth in the bunch.....I thought they were ALL smallies....and no I anot going looking again. I remember seeing the tell tale "tail" of a smallmouth on every fish.
