well, were doing the exterior of the boat over,a total repaint.taking care of the scratches and digmarks and such.pulled the bowstop off and found some nice stuff behind it.some potmarks in the aluminum, and some nice sccratches/gouges also.well, since im doing it over,i made a plate to go from the bowcap to the boweye, bent it at the same angle as the bowcap, put some fusor 111,for those in the know, its a autobody structural adhesive that sets up in 5 min.drilled 5 3/16" holes on each side, then riveted the plate on.
while im doing this repaint,im taking pictures or the complete process, what type of paint/primer-sealer and whathave you,for anyone who wants to attempt it themselves.
i have a complete set of pictures of the bowcap plateing process,if anyone wants to attempt it themselves.i kind of cheated a little.i have access to a sheet metal brake, which makes the bending process easier and uniformly.plus the access to a air rivet gun and such also makes it easier.
anyone wants a copy of the pictures,i could e-mail them to you with a small description of the process and a material list.
