I just really had to laugh this morning, with the announcement of London receiving the bid for the 2012 Olympics. Chirac and all his cronies have been running around for the past month or so confident they would get the Olympics bid this time. Even to the point of making fun recently of the Brit's, their food and facilities. I'd love to know how close the vote was, because I believe the US had three votes on the committee.



Given recent history, I wonder where the US votes went, after the US effort fell short. My bet is, that we voted for our British Allies, and not the French.



How does that go?

The funny thing is my boss is French and he talks more like a Brit than a with a french accent. And he loves England. Go figure that one out.



At the Formula race in Montreal, he was ragging on our QA director (French/Canadian) that a Brit won the race and they were playing "God save the Queen" rather than "Oh Canada".

To me the real kick in the nads is that without us these clowns would be speaking German. How quickly they forget.



What if in the 40's while Hitler was parading around in Paris we had decided to wait for UN intervention??? (Was the UN even in existence back then?)



What if after Pearl Harbor we had not bombed Japan but rather sent them aid and increased trading with them so they wouldn't hate the big bad evil American monsters.



This country has been repeatedly attacked often without provocation and then we act. The few times we have liberated countries in the past, we were heroes. The few times we have tried to in the past 20 years, we're evil, oppressive, capitalist pigs.



And YET.....when a country is in dire need of our intervention and we do nothing (like we're so often told to) we're uncaring, calloused, egotistical, evil, capitalist pigs! LOL



Damned if you do, damned if you don't!



To hell with them all I say. Lets take care of our own before we send another red cent overseas to anyone but England.



Withdraw ALL our troops from every wretched little hole in the earth country and with it, all or our military intelligence, our equipment, our technology.



Withdraw all funding and aid and sharing of agricultural technology.



Stop importing foreign oil and foreign cars. Then Americans would HAVE to buy American! LOL And stop exporting as well. The loss of exported cars would more than be made up for with those buying Fords/Chevys, that no longer can buy a Honda or Nissan.



Make sure that every homeless person that WANTS to get a job and better themself gets that opportunity.

Make sure that EVERY vet gets the benefits they deserve.

Make sure that EVERY AMERICAN kid that wants to go to college has that opportunity.



And then open the borders to those who still want to be Americans, I bet there will STILL be millions. And to make room for them, we'll deport all those who denounce the country or burn her flag! Anyone who does NOT want to work or contribute to society can go to France or Germany, afterall, they're better countries, they should welcome such trash with open arms!

The vote was 54 to 50. Now the Fins had two judges on the committe. Chirac last week said publically that british food would be the worst but for the Finish food being below them making the britsh food the second worst. Now you take 2 votes from the 54 and put it on the 50 side and you at least have a tie. So it would be my guess, only a guess, that Chirac stuck it to his own uppity people this time.

In response to Rob - if we stop buying imports, say good-bye to your GM's and Ford's which are made in CANADA and MEXICO. Instead, you'll be buying Nissan's, Honda's and Toyota's. Nissan makes its trucks in Canton Mississippi, including ALL Titans, Armadas, Quest minivans and Pathfinders (that INCLUDES those exported to other countries). Honda makes trucks in Marysville, Ohio. Toyota is opening yet ANOTHER manufacturing plant in the United States. By contrast, GM and Ford are CLOSING U.S. plants and moving their production overseas. So go ahead and boycott all the imports - you'll be surprised at what's left.

Let's march a little further back in history. The French were on our side in the revolution (if memory serves) and the brits weren't exactly on our side. The French may not be who we're going home with at the end of the night, but they did bring us to the dance.

If the American Revolution would have happened even 25 years earlier, France would have been as unlikely to help us as North Korea would be today.
