This may offend some people but not many! I am not chastising your heritage but my family also came over as immigrants and I am proud of my heritage. BUT... I am an American first with Welch and Scottish heritage second!!!!!!!

Will we still be the Country of choice and still be America if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in America because it is the Country of Choice??????

Think about it!

All we have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS?

I celebrate Christmas...........but because it isn't celebrated by everyone..............we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings.

It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday?

We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that. This says it all!

This is an editorial written by an American citizen, published in a

Tampa newspaper. He did quite a job; didn't he? Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS,

NOT AMERICANS,

MUST ADAPT.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge

in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However...... the dust from the attacks had

barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about

the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to ! America. Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to

our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans......we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women.......on Christian principles............. founded this nation..... and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home.........because God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have

no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where

you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so! But once you are done complaining....... whining...... and griping....... about our flag....... our pledge...... our national motto........or our way of life....I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other Great American Freedom.......

THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

the worst part about not using "christmas" is it is a national holiday. signed it law by ulysses s grant.

mike

Montgomery, Alabama just had their "Holiday Parade" yesterday. SICKENING!

Isn't the first part of Christmas, Christ?

Boy, that hits the nail right on the head doesn't it? I saved this one quite a while ago. I think it fits in with the above.

Are we "SLOW LEARNERS" or just "Politically Correct" idiots??

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Proud to live in a town that still has Christmas Parades and Veteran's Parades. Plus, we still say the Pledge of Allegience in school each morning, and then have a moment of silence for the troops that are serving and deployed around the world. :)

Everyone to their own traditions and sayings. It doesn't offend me for someone to wish me a happy holiday season instead of Merry Christmas. Not everyone in the world is Christian, but most have some type of celebration around this time of year.

How about we all just enjoy each others 'company' and well wishes.

I'm not trying to be 'politically correct', but simply trying to realize that we live in culture with a vast and varied background and customs.

I'm a Christian.. I go to church.. TRY to do what is right and i believe that Jesus died for My sins... There are more non -Christians in America than Christians... But you better believe that at sometime in the course of life, a tragedy Will occur, the lose of a loved one, financial ruin... you get the picture... When most non Christians will ask God for help..

Just my opinions!! KB

I did a speech the other day in my speech class in college over the seperation of church and state.

I used two books by William Federer 3 Secular Reasons that our Nation is a Nation Under God and Back Fired.

Federer also has an encyclopedia called America's God and Country. its a book of quotes.

Every US president has referred to God and the Nation being Founded on Biblical principles and EVERY state constitution contains referrences to God!

In 3 Secular reason Federer gives evidence that we are a nation under God because we have rights, equality and we all enjoy few laws.

here are some quotes from Presidents, Supreme Court, and Congressman

Like "Waterwings", I'm proud to live in a city and community that still have Christmas Parades. The city of Knoxville, TN and the community of Powell, TN!!!

On a side note, this year my youngest son (14) will be in the Powell parade. He is the mascot at his high school and will do "his thing" in the parade. He's pretty pumped.

Edit; I stand corrected. Last year it was the Knoxville Christmas Parade. I just heard on the radio, This year it is the :(Fowlers Furniture SANTA Parade:angry:. We will go to the Powell CHRISTMAS parade.
