Well, I had to come back to VA for August - or at least the 6th-29th, and then I'm done for good. Long road trip, but much less painful without the boat in tow. One thing that came up - my club (in VA) has a tournament this coming weekend on Potomac. Now how can I pass up Potomac?
So, although I thought the last tournament was my last one... I now have one more. 2 day'r on the Potomac this weekend - fishing as a NON-BOATER (backseater) in another persons boat (and he's our Angler of the year 2007 / leading for 2008 so far). The plan is to help each other out in order to extend his lead / boost my place in the standings for the year. I'm going to miss the last 3 tournaments, but due to the small turnout at this one (less than half of our club is fishing it), and the weights of the competitors below me in the standings, I still might have a chance of making "Top 6" in our club (I'm in fourth right now - 2 lbs below 3rd, 4 lbs below 2nd, 11 lbs below 1st). There are a couple of really good anglers behind me though, so if I don't do extremely well on Potomac, then I can kiss that end of year "Top 6" trophy goodbye. Still leading "Big Fish" for the year though!
All the best,
Glenn
