Well we sure are seeing the world on this assignment to China! We spent Chinese New Year Week (yup, government and companies close for 1 week!) so we headed to northern Thailand with another family to Chiang Mai, and to Bangkok. Too much to tell, great sights (lots of HUGE Buddha's), decent beer, bad wiskey, good food, no one got sick...!! A few pics I thought my NTOWS friends would enjoy:

First is the boys doing all the driving, and Beka and I get the covered cartbed!!

Second was along a major street between an Emerald/jewlery store and a fancy pottery store, all the blades you could ever want!! From garden hoes, to Scithes, to Machette's and more! And just down the road we passed (but couldn't stop) at a gun shop that was similar.

The third was the boys and I out front of the military Armory at the Kings Palace. The boys (and ME Too!!) wanted a pictures with the guns!!

Hold on, gotta get this one uploaded!

Good pics Trep...

Won't be long and them boys are gonna' be kickin' your skinny arse (if they're not already)

Has anybody else noticed... I think Trep has put on about an extra 3 or 4 ounces... LOL:rolleyes:

Carlos - We didn't get close enough or friendly enough to touch, but he bayonets sure LOOKED sharp and pointy!!! Figured you'd have a comment on the weapons. We don't see ANY here in Shanghai, unless its the shotguns the ATM/Bank guards carry when filling up the ATMS. Kind of surprised us, as we kind of expected a lot more soldiers, but as Shanghai is the China financial center, they realy go to the effort to make the visitors/locals feel like you are in NY city. I'll be in Beijing next week, I think i'll see more there.

Mike - I think those Ox have enough HP to tow it, but getting them to back down the ramp would be a PAIN!!! LOL

Greg - Trying to eat/drink my way back to normal after 2 surgiers in 6 months on my mouth. Still have a closet of pants here I can't wear as I lost about 20lbs late last summer (not that I had it to loose!!! LOL).

I swear Michael those two boys get bigger every time you send a picture! Plus, you don't have to eat/drink your way back to normal Trep, you have to go well past that.:p I noticed the spit shined toes on those boots the soldiers were wearing. Now they have to shine up the tops a little or they can't be Airborne.

Tell the boys I said Hi will ya?
