I just got off the phone with Orville..... I didn't get a chance to speak with Don.....



Last night, I also had a conversation with another member of this site..... He explained a bit to me about how this software works that harvests e-mail addresses..... After we hung up, I wondered if Don's software might not continue to send out the spam.....



You all know what a hard-nose (yeah, other discriptive adjectives and nouns, too) I can be..... But not in this case..... I think that they have made an honest mistake..... I don't think they ment to continue the spam..... I think they are sincere in their desire to market their product in an ethical manner.....



I would ask that everyone give them one more try to be contributing members of this site..... I am willing to do just that.

OK I recomend that each member that go the SPAM reply 10 or 12 times like I did. If they e-mailed everybody here they should get about 20,000 e-mails back. Just my .02

If you've never been in sales..... If you've never staked your financial life on being able to promote a new product/service you've believed in..... If you've never tried so hard..... So very, very hard.....



Take a look at my resume in my member library..... I've been there; done that; got the t-shirts, scars, butt-kickings, soggy hankerchiefs and a lot more to show for it.....



Don is guilty of trying very hard. Any sales manager in the world would be proud of him for his efforts! And, if he were working for you, you would be, too.



He is also guilty of poor execution. If any of us had to count the number of times we were guilty of that..... I believe the additional e-mails were completely unintentional.



Penalize him by sending him back to the Starting Line.

Make him do it over.

Please.....

One word...VIRUS....that is not kosher. My blocker got it. You have defended this guy 3 or 4 times and have yet to address the fact that he sent infected emails (to me anyway). Drop this cause because you will not get any sympathy for a virus spreading spam post. Stop being nieve. Just because you called and talked to him does not make everything better. Let the spam stop and let's see how many "general discussions" these guys participate in on a regular basis on the board. Then and only then will they redeem themselves as contributing members instead of a company ripping off emails to sell a product.

I agree with Tox for the most part. I didn't get a virus but I havn't scanned yet either. I don't like this whole concept of e-mail harvesting. I know it happens but I hate it. My own personal rule is; I do NOT do business with any person or company that calls me on the phone or e-mails me. I very much resent having my e-mail address plucked out of my personal profile here. Perhaps Don and Orville are well intentioned oafs, I'm still not sure. Right now I am too offended by them to consider it fairly. I am willing to let the dust settle and see if they truly want to become active members here and try again. I still think their sales blitz tactic was waaaay off the mark for this format.

Ken and I both have been in sales. I do not "bother" people. I contact people in a professional manner, by calling or sending a letter. If I get no positive response, I move on.



EVERYONE in the worls knows about SPAM (junk email version). It is on the news, in the paper and in your inbox EVERYDAY. I still dont appreciate it.



Yes is is poor executuion. Yes he MAY have learned from his mistake. It DOESNT mean I need to relinquish my ideals and allow it to happen.



Like I said in the other thread, forgiven but not forgotten. I will leave it at that and I wish everyone else would do the same.



I am off my soap box now and will not respond to another thing to do with the company. How else will they learn their lesson???????//

Just some info about that virus they sent us (Ha I own A mac and I don't use my main email!)



VBS.Slip@mm then uses Microsoft Outlook to send itself to all contacts in the Outlook Address Book. The email message has the following characteristics

Well what it does is that takes all your contacts and send that virus to them. It's classifed as a worm and yes I beleive it was intentional. I don't beleve that this worm send your email contacts back to a specfic person (still investaging)but I won't be suprised if it does.



This guy is really asking for it! He lucky no one before try to take him down for this.

The only people who could send e-mail without repercussion should be those whose e-mail addresses have already been harvested and who have received e-mail from these guys.



If you haven't received an e-mail from them, you don't want to inadvertently cause yourself problems.
