Something to keep an eye on - just had brakes totally redone on '04 901 Tandem Axle Trailer. Calipers had deep grooves and scores in them after less than 2,000 miles.

Could be some issues with materials that may be worth looking at, grooves were quite visable without taking wheel off of trailer.

Hey Woody, did the warrenty cover them? I have the same boat, trailer, 2004. Do you have a 220 Opti, if so what prop you runnunig at what speeds? Thanks

Yes, dealer called it to my attention and all was covered by warranty (would have been close to $600.00 if not warranty). Just noticed that I said the calipers were scored - actually meant to say rotors.

Yes,I have 200 Opti with Tempest 25 pitch prop, 69.71 MPH GPS with 2 people, 2/3 tank of fuel and load of tackle.

Some of the trailers are prone to brake lock and I don't know why. My partner has had the brakes lock on the last 2 929 trailers 03 and an 04. He didn't notice the 04's lock up and when he stopped they were on fire!!In any case both were covered under warranty and had to have the works replaced. The fire incident also ruined the rims.
