My friend just bought a 2003 896, I didn't think they made the 896 anymore. It's not in the Nitro catalog or the web site. Whats going on? Does anyone know? Thanks for your help. Later<>< <>< <>< <>< Jack

It's been brought back, but changed some. Did your friend get the snap-out carpet? That sounds like a GREAT idea.



I haven't seen anyone with anything negative about the new 896.

The 896 was discontinued for 2003. Tracker had already produced some of the "interim" models when they decided to go ahead with the new 898. The 896 was available on a limited basis.

I think the 2003 is called the 898 and is either equipped with carpeting or rubberized flooring for bay-type fishing. I have a 2002 896 and it was the last year to my knowledge.

Thanks for the help. It was bought in Nov. of last year and repo'd in Feb. of this year. He said it looked brand new and got it for $19,400 from E-Bay. The seller was in Arkansaw.
