I recently purchased an '04 882. The hydraulic steering is pretty stiff. Someone told me to bleed the system. Can anyone tell me where the bleed screw is and what type fluid does the system use? Thanks, Gary

Are you sure you have hydraulic? Normally when thier is air in the system they get sloppy not tight. Cables on the other hand tend to get tight when they need replacment.

If you do indeed have hyrdaulic the bleed screws would be on the hyd cyl thats attached to the outboard. As far as fluid, sea star makes a specific fluid for thier systems and thats what you need to use. Check the link below for bleeding instructions.
