A little dissappointed with the new speed sensor on my new Eagle ST. WOT it read 80 MPH!!! Gee, maybe I set a new TF record! LOL It only appeared to be accurate up to about 20 mph. Which is good as my in dash speedo doesn't even start until 20. Is this normal? Is meant more for trolling speeds? I seem to recall the manual say it was accurate at speeds up to 70+ mph. Yeah, it goes that high, but my boat doesn't! Any clues? Other than than, I love the units. Will take a little while to get familiar with all the features. Boat runs like a champ too. But I am defiantely taking on water, and I don't know where. And not a little either. Probably have to drop it off at the shop with a grand! LOL

Check your mounting location on the transom. If the sensor is behind a hull rake it is reading correct, however the speed of the turbulant water coming off the rake is not the speed of your vessel. Move the unit to a clear unobstructed area off the transom at pad/running surface level minus three degrees. This should put you within a mile or two of accuracy. Make sure to fill your old holes with RTV or gel, whatever you hull dictates. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
