Has anyone blocked off their oil injection on a 50 hp Merc. ? I was told the oil injection tank is bad ( beeping with oil in tank and peeing like a 18 year old). It cost about $100 to replace. Not sure the cost of block off kit. And do you think it is best to block it anyway? Would like to get you take on this......thanks

There is a lot more to plugging the oil system. I'm not sure of the process but I have read it. I had a cracked saddle tank on my 225 that caused the warning tone even with a full tank of oil in the big bilge tank. The dealer replaced my little saddlre tank and that was 8 years ago. Personally I would rather my fuel/oil mix at the motor rather than the tank.

Agree..I just started adding extra oil to the tank last year on mine due to it being 8+ years old and I don't want it to go BOOM when the oiler does go;)

IMO a $100 is a cheap price to pay to put your confidence back in your outboard. Good luck! ;)

New oil tank ordered today.........I also read some things about block off that was not very clear. Will see how this works out. Thanks for your input, kenny
