While filling up at the gas dock the attendant broke the chain that attached the gas cap lid to the gas tank. Of course it sank to the bottom of the lake. I am trying to locate a gas cap replacement. The dealership attempted to order a gas cap but the threads were not the same. So the alternative I was told was $150 fuel fill (which I guess is the entire mechanism including chain, gas cap, and internal gas tank part that the chain is attached to).
Does anyone have any other ideas or possible options so I can just replace the gas cap? I don't care if the chain is there or not.
