2011 Z7 exhaust smell

I have a 2011 Z7 and the rod and storage compartments smell like exhaust fumes. Does anyone else have this problem??? I was getting a reel out the other day and was gonna re-tie to do a little pond fishing and when I bit the line, it had an oily gas taste...LOL, I'm a terrible bass fisherman but seems I can use my new and improved exhaust scent as an excuse!!! Any suggestions??

Prop your lids open a small amount when you store or if you have the cover on. You are not smelling exhaust, you are smelling....and tasting evidently, fuel fumes. With that being said, I sure would check out the fuel system lines and make sure you don't have a leak somewhere. Fuel smell in the compartments is a pretty common thing as long as there isn't actual fuel present. The plastic fuel cells "wick" for lack of a better term, some of the smell into the compartments.
