2008 189 Sport. Factory Motor Guide Trolling motor. The metal plate is loose that secures the motor to the hull. I havent even looked at it and wont be able to look at it until to tonight or tomorrow and may be an easy fix. How do I secure it. Any pointers on keeping it from working loose again?

It looks like this. I don't want to caveman anything and tear something up.

I took it apart this.morning. This seems like something that will be an ongoing maintenance item the way it is designed. I can share some pics and thoughts on the process if it would benefit anyone.

I have a 2001 but same mount. When I changed mine, I used self locking nuts. That was 3 years ago. Still tight.

Guess this was an issue with the previous owner. Drilled the holes through on the spring plate and put nylock nuts on the bottom. No issues while installed, have had the springs come out when removing for winter on my 2005 188 Sport.
