Ahhhhhhh

I feel MUCH better now...

Got the mighty TV-18 out on the lake today...

Once I got away from the fog bank I created burning off all that fogging oil (hmmm - coincidence with the name?), she ran great...fired right up!!!

Had to zig zag through all the loons on the lake...I must have seen 50!!!

Only one minor glitch...that dang Merc 3000 shifter was sticking again...it's already been replaced once...

Once I engage the 'throttle advance' button, it won't come back out again...I'm sure my hand will be bruised tomorrow with all the 'mechanical agitation' I gave it!!!

I really think it has something to do with the cold...it did it last spring, but once it warms up, it shifts in and out of the throttle mode just fine...

anyone had this problem???

Yep, both my 1999 and 2000 Nitro's had the same problem. Was told there was a recall on that shifter, took it in for replacement and never had another problem. Call your shop and they should be able to get you squared away.

Adam-

It's been replaced once already...when the boat was new it did the same thing...

It was fine all last summer...just doesn't like the cold...

I'll probably end up taking her in...the bilge pump isn't working either...

They might have replaced it with the same model that was very prone to breaking. I had the same problem on mine. If I remember correctly, there's a plastic part behind that knob that should be replaced with a metal one.

Congrats Andy, I should have mine back on wednesday night. I have already told the wife it will be wet on thursday!
