Yeehaw baby! You folks ready? Weather forcast is good, rain with a warming trend will turn on all the hogs. Does everyone know where they're going to the motel, launch, Turtle. Don't worry too much about the Turtle, if you get to the rally, you can follow the rest of us to the turtle. Got your licenses? Stocked up on the right baits? Got a couple of cases of your favorite recreational beverage? Do we have enough riders? If not, bring a friend. Again, (not to be abused less I include you in my air strike plot) my phone number should you need to contact me at home is (518) 561-2359. I don't have a cell anymore, so call there. If you don't reach me, my wife is usually there to take messages.

Rick, very simple coming off the ferry. Take the main road out to the intersection at RTE 9. You go straight across to the highway ramps for I-87, and take the first ramp, northbound. Go up 1 exit to exit 40. When you come off the ramp, you will see the Stonehelm across the road on your left. That's it. Call me from there and I can come out to meet you guys and give you directions to the launch or just follow us Friday morning.

I have my NY & VT licenses. I have spent over $150 on tackle with 2 more pay checks before the Rally...LOL I'm still trying to get a hold of some maps.

Rick, I still have to get back to you on travel plans. I'll probably work 1/2 day on Thursday and could reach White River Junction by 2pm. and arrive at Stonehelm by 4 (check in is a 3pm)

I'm not buying a new rod for Mac to do artwork on because I fully intend on WINNING one...LOL

Marke

Marke, the rods are raffled to those who DIDN'T win, or drove the farthest. So you're safe, you'll be in contention for the non cash winning contestants! LOL Getting used to pre-tourney (even fun ones) trash talk yet? You goin' DOWN boy, cause I'm handin' out lollipops and A$$ whoopins, and I'm fresh out of lollipops! LOL

You got it Rick,....ol' Rob needs to be slapped around like a puck!! LOL...Imagine the horror on his face when his tried and true "gauranteed" 5lb fish aren't there!!! Nothing can humble you faster or make you look more like a damn fool than a BASS!!!!!!!!!!,......Man is he setting himself up!!!!

LOL,...

Mac

I know, I know. Can't you guys recognize BS when you see it? True story, about 3 years ago, I fished a federation tourney and drew a guy that had never fished here. He had an OLD beat up 18 foot Ranger. He hands me the keys and says, "keep her off the reefs for me huh?" He had no water, so we fished mine all day. In my exhuberance, I hadn't prefished the water for about 2 weeks......duh! I mean after all, this is my lake, I've fished it my whole life, I KNOW where those fish are all year. Well, on our first spot, with his first cast with a spinnerbait, the guy lands a 4 lber. Yup, I'm on! NOTTTT!!!! 8 hours later, only 3 bass in my bag and MAYBE 5 lbs, I was a humble little camper! Guys, I just talk big. Rick, I hope you or Marke to win it. Believe me, I've had my moments in the lead and held the trophy! It's a great feeling. That's why I would like to see one of you newbies win it and get hooked on the rush of tourney fishing for life! I'm just gonna make rounds Friday night at about midnight to see who can actually sleep! To this day, before any good size tourney, I have a hard time sleeping! Come 5:00 am and the start of that motor, with 2 cycle exhaust in your face, a field full of other competitors looking to whoop your butt, the smell of fresh air and water, all your "go to" best baits tied on and waiting. MAN!! what a rush. Just sitting there idling and waiting for your number to be called. Gentlemen, THAT is tourney fishing. Then when your plan falls together, and within minutes of arriving at your first spot, you put a healty limit in and can start "hog huntin" with still 7 + hours to go, that's a mighty fine feeling too. Now, please keep in mind, this IS a fun event. But I wanted just enough of the competitive atmosphere to keep it REALLY fun. Make no mistakes, I will be fishing to win, not as hard as in a fed tourney maybe, cause many of you are new, but I will be fishing pretty hard. More so on Saturday for the sake of whoever I draw as a partner. Yes, I am a guide on Champlain and have been for years, Mac and Pierre are state team members, and Ken spends all of his waking moments in a BPS picking tank fish for cryin out loud. If you guys win (and there's no reason you can't) you should be extremely proud! My first paycheck/trophy came on new water, I was the youngest angler, with the smallest, and slowest boat. Took 2nd place, and missed 1st by only 4 oz! Felt real good, and it hooked me for life. Can you just imagine the exhileration of fishing a classic? Anyhow, come onout fellas, and those of us who don't win, can make up lies about why, and the fish that broke us off, that WOULD have been big bass of the day! LOL

Yes you are! Come on! We need non boaters. Unless of course you're scared?!!! LOL That's your cue!

Rob,

I made a dry run to the ramp from VT today. Also picked up my NY license in Champlain, NY. I went up to Rouses Point and down I-87. Total trip was 136 miles and 80 minutes. Used 9.4 gallons of gas for $12.60 versus $40 for a roundtrip ferry ride. It'll probably take a couple of more gallons of gas when towing. I plan on meeting you guys next Friday at the Stonehelm as a non-boater.

Bob G.

Sounds great Bob. I have a spot open in my boat you're welcome to ride! Really? Only 9.4 gallons. That's 14.4 miles per gallon. Not too shabby. Watcha driving? You staying for drinks, BBQ, and lies afterwards? Be sure to get there around 6:45 am to be safe. We will be all over the place at the Stonehelm, but if you don't see me at my boat, start loading it up. It has my name right next to the driver seat and says, "Kiss this" on the outboard cowling. On a white, older Bravada. Glad you're coming.

I drive a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD with the 6.0L engine and 3.73 gear ratio. That was without the boat. I went to PA last week and averaged 16.1 mpg on a 950 mile trip. The truck only has 3700 miles. I plan on sticking around for BBQ and BS. I took next weekend off of work so that I can do all three days. I won't get out of work until midnight on Thursday. I'll be there Friday with my case of Diet Coke for my caffeine!!

I'll be pumped full of coffee myself. My father in law got the 2500 HD with a 6.0 and only gets about 12 mpg. What gives? I think he has gears about 4.56 or somewhere around there.

The 2500HD is only available with 4.10 gears or lower unless you get the 8.1 or Duramax, then you can get 3.73. The 1500HD Crew Cab has a 2500LD chassis and a 8600 GWRV - it is the "old" 3/4 ton chassis before Chevy came out with the HD trucks. The 2500HD uses the old 1 ton chassis - 9200 GVWR. There is a picture in my library.

Will be there early on Friday, but also have to buy a VT. license prior to launching. Will be checking in to the stonehelm Friday afternoon...

Hey Guys, if we have enough boats, I'll be glad to leave mine at home... I haven't towed my boat with my Suzuki in about two years ( I have a beater Ford Ranger that I use around home). I used the ol' Suzuki to go fishing the other day and had trouble keepinf it at 65MPH with the boat in tow. If someone has room, I'll be more than happy to sit in the back seat.
