2.25 RAM mount on Z18 bow plate?

Hi,

I am putting a 9 inch humminbird on bow. I bought a 2.25 ball, medium length RAM mount. The thing is huge! Just the mount weighs 3.8 pounds. I am wondering if the bow plate (plastic?) can handle this or if I would need to mount it down on the deck? I do not want to give up the deck space, or the couple of inches of height by doing so...

All options / ideas welcome, including finding a different mount.

Decided the ram was too heavy for the bow plate on my Nitro, so I sent it back and bought a Stowaway, since either would have to go on the carpet the decsion between them became easy. Absolutely loving the new mount.
