Well I was glad I wasn't on the water this weekend! Hope Mark did OK in his tourney. I know Buzz and Bob weren't happy with the weather. It was cold, wet, and windy. Typcial for October in the NE! My bathroom is nearly complete, so yesterday with the quick shot of sunshine we had I decided to get my dog out and start running him since, after all, we have clients coming THIS weekend! LOL He sure is a champion. 9 months off and he was right back into pro mode immediately. But when I first got out the gun and put his beeper collar on, you've never seen a dog freak so much! The foliage hasn't even turned yet let alone dropped. And there is still too much undergrowth but we went anyway. First spot is a favorite for both of us. We had 2 birds, which Zeke pointed perfectly, but I saw neither flush. That's OK, I don't really want to shoot any birds now, better to leave them for clients. Then we ran into my buddy and fellow bird hunting freak Pierre with his 3 dogs. We all teamed up and went to some state land where they had released some phesants. 2 avid wing shooters, 4 dogs, 2 very seasoned and 2 extraordinary pups, 3 hours, lots of miles and brush and not a single flush? Whaaazup wid dat? LOL I then realized how badly out of shape I am, and so was Zeke! After 2 hours in the brush he was on my heels which means, "I'm tired now and don't want to hunt for a while!" LOL Not like that dog at all. Geeez, maybe I SHOULD have been fishing! LOL Hope everyone had a great weekend. Fall is definately here and with a vengance.

Sounds like you need somemore areobic crawlspace crawling. I hope you don't overdo your ticker. Remember ease into this. Rain hummmm whazzat? Dry here again. So dry that the combines harvesting soybeans and corn leave dust clouds you can see for miles. Most ponds are dry, only the deep deep ones have water. Tried out my new 20 guage it's great. Even fished and caught some small bass, but most importantly videotaped a lot of exposed shoreline structure that is high and dry. It's amazing how much time you have to play once your children leave.

Fished local club tournament Saturday on St Lawrence, fun day but zippo for fish. Caught some beautiful toothy critters though. Went pheasant hunting Sunday morning, found out I'm out of shape too. No dogs covered a lot of fields and not a single flush. They had released 300 birds the weekend before. Went over to the farm were we hunted saw 4 partriges.

Fished Champlain for 3 rock and rolling days this past weekend. Caught fish while pre-fishing on Friday. Then I totally blanked for the two days of our club tournament. Some of the club members did real well. More details are in my fishing reports. My arms are sore from hanging on for the ride for three days!! Glad that fishing season is over for me and will start hunting next weekend! Hope them leaves fall off pretty soon too!!
