Fished my first tournemnt of the year saturday. Local B.A.S.S. Club on Black Lake, NY. Four other clubs were fishing the lake the same day. Our club had 14 boats and 26 members fishing. I took first place with 15.9 lbs and 2nd place was 15.25 lbs. Caught all my fish on jig and pig.

Tough day though, trolling motor bit the dust early in the morning. Third time for my 67 lb variable speed motorguide trolling motor. It's officially in the garbage now. Minkota maxxum 65 lb ordered yesterday.

Used a drift sock and drift fished the outside weedlines to catch a total of 10 bass for the day. My non-boater weighed three fish. He lost enough to have beat me. My lunker was 4.75 lbs. So, a great day and a good start to my tournament season.

Will be at Black Lake starting this Saturday for a week. This will be our third year. I must keep the jig and pig in mind seeing you were succesfull with it. Black Lake is a well hidden jewel of a fishery in the northeast. Eight guys, four boats, two cabins, plenty of fish and beer. The way life was meant to be.

Did you use the whole pig or just a hind quater...Sorry I never understood why they call them pigs when they look more like frogs or crawdads.
