You know after reading the article in Bass & Walleye Boats magazine on the 175...I come to the conclusion that the article was good overall but, they put the 75 Optimax on the back for the test. Why would they do that ? They even went as far as even saying that the 50 HP four-stroke would be a better choice.....duh.
I've been getting this mag for over a year now and really wonder about some of their tests. First off even though the 175 outsales the 185...I think the 185 would have been a better choice for the test. Shouldn't they have done it with the largest boat availible and let people do the math if they want the 175 instead. Especially for the price difference. After looking what it cost for a 175 w/75 and a 185 w/90 combo is only 1400 bucks. Easy choice for me
Also I have ridden in the 175 vs. the 185...no comparison.
The 185 handles waves much better than the 175.
I also believe that if Tracker would get with the program and get rid of the wood in the decks and replace it with welded aluminum decks, make the beam at least 87" and make the bottom wider accordingly for stability...Tracker should have no problem putting a 150 on the back!
Now that's whatimtalkinbout!
