Well I filled my livewell up for the first time yesterday. Its a very basic system. I have a 9 inch white tube that I instal in the bottom of the well. It acts as a overflow. Soon as the water reaches the height of the top of the tube itenters the tube and is drained outside.

I am new to this so maby it is normal but the tube being only about nine inches means the water will only be nine inches leaving alot of room in the well.

Should I exten the tube a bit? Has anybody encountered this with there dc or am I missing something?

I have a 170 and I didn't like the way the livewell was set up so I changed it. First I replaced the pump which was a 500 GPH with a 1000 GPH. Then I put an overflow on the livewell and eliminated the stand pipe. I also put an Oxygenator on the livewell. I used to have a problem with fish dying in the summer but that is a thing of the past.
