trolling motor

I just got a nitro 160 and need a powerful troller for wind and current. Is a 80lb too much? Should I just mount to the bow with screws or add a wood mount under the bow? Suggestions are helful. I have never done this.

2008 Nitro 189 Sport. Can anyone suggest a GOOD marine electronics installer in Southern Ca? I bought a new Humminbird Helix 10 and Minn Kota Ultrex motor that needs to be installed. Have contacted the BASS Pro/Tracker store and service center in Rancho Cucamonga but not sure they sound competent.

I'm wanting to install a Minn Kota Ultrex as well as a recessed foot control compartment. Does anyone know what kind of bracing and/or location of bracing for the bow deck? Just want to get an idea if it's doable before cutting a hole in it.
