I have a 2013 Z-9 with a 250 ProXs. Currently running a Tempest 25p (came on the boat) am getting about 68-69 mph gps at around 5800 rpms. I am not sure about motor height (still set the same from dealer). Hole shot seems to be pretty good compared to my previous boat (TR21X). I am wondering if there is a different setup as far as prop or motor height that would give me more speed with out sacrifising hole shot or am I pretty much dialed in?

Sam - I have a 2014 Z-9 with the same engine. It came with the same prop. A lot depends on how the boat is weighted. With 25% fuel and a lighter load I could get about 76 (GPS) out of her. Load her up for a tournament and it's about 65 - 69. I put a Bravo 1 24P on her and it's a great prop. I spoke with Scott at Mercury racing and he told me that the engine should be set at 4 1/4 to 4 3/4 below pad.

Hope that helps.
