During the winter I still get my boat out about once every 4 to 6 weeks. How long does a boat need sit idle before you need to winterize it? What steps are involved in winterizing a boat motor?

I usually get out at least every 3 to 4 weeks in the winter but last winter for one reason or another I didn't get the boat wet for at least 3 months. I was afraid it wouldn't start....but it fired up just fine and ran like a turpentine cat. All I had done is put Sta-Bil in the gas back in the fall and lower the motor to drain the lower unit and keep the batter charger plugged in.

I run some of the RV anti-freeze thru the pumps-- Just in case-- Use the Sta-bil --

Getting down in the 20's tonight--

but looken like Sunday will be a good day to go fishing..

Also trim your motor all the way down to let the water drain.
