What size of trailer winch?

I have a 1998 896 savage w/ a 200. At the end of last year my trailer winch was giving me so problems. So I figure will go a head and replace with the season just around the corner. My question is what size do I need? 1,400, 1,600, 1,800 or 2,000lb rating? I am the type that goes a little over kill on things. I am just wandering what size I need for the boat and then I figure I would take a step up just to make things easier. Because of the lower gear ratio. I am also going to make sure I get a duel drive winch. Also do you guys have any recommendations.

When dealing with boats and such. Your can't go overboard on bigger stronger or faster.

Don't be surprised if a different winch won't work. Different shape or length of the cranking handle sometimes won't clear the bow. I have had this problem twice in the last ten years.
