Under Console Storage

Ok so I have a 189 sport with dual consoles. In the short time I've owned this boat I've noticed lots of dead space under the passenger console so I am researching what could be put there by way of storage. Whenever the family is in the boat there seems to be so much junk aboard with little room to stow it. I considered just shoving a tote of some sort under there, but wondered if there isn't something more sturdy I could use.

Under the driver's console I have the fire extinguisher and velcroed in I have the throwable floatation device and first aid kit.

Any ideas?

I used to have a tote that I used under a couple of boats. This was before I started using a hot foot. If it will fit and not interfere with your normal usage of the boat, go for it.
