Out fishing today and caught a few crappie, white and black, a bass, a bream, and Johnny caught a striper! We ended up releasing the catch....the best of the bunch was a pregnant crappie I caught. Thought it best to leave her be.

Some areas of the river that run between Columbus lake and the main channel below the dam are BADLY silted in. Not so many logs as last time we were out, but it hasn't rained for a few days. The water is still pretty stained, but not quite as bad as it's been. Be especially careful around Columbus landing. The water is only a foot deep in places and it's loaded with logs, still.

Had to clean the boat after we got home. Nothing like Mississippi muddy water to muck up a white hull!

Punched out a bunch on Pickwick up to 2 lbs yesterday and today. Had to wade thru a bunch of small fish but ended up with plenty of nice ones. I suspect the fish should be moving shallow there really soon based on what we saw on Pick.
