Skimmer transducer

Has anyone mounted a skimmer transducer to the outside of your Z-7 Nitro off of the transom, If so where did you install it? Does the bottom of the hull the way it has a step in it interfere with the function of the transducer at high speeds?

It has to be below the lowest part of the hull. Down below the all the drains and stuff. Make sure you read the instructions for actual placement of the transducer. Make sure you use a good sealant for the screw holes.

A little tip: Instead of using the screws and wire holders, use a good, clear adhesive caulk or silicone to hold the wiring to the hull. I used a product called Parbond. A little dab on the wire in a few spots and blue tape to hold it till it cures and you're good to go.
