rod holders

i would like to install rod holders on my 2008 pt175. i would like to put them on the floor area outside the gas tank/battery box. any info as to what is under this area would be greatly appreciated. sounds hollow, but don't want to drill until i know more. thanks, tom

Lots of options... I like RAM mounts.... "sockets" can be mounted flush to the topcap (1" holes drilled into topcap); can be mounted on raised bases, again monted to the topcap; and, clamped to handrails...

I will send pics of mine. I installed them in the deck floor. You hardly notice they are there and they work fantastic. When you are ready to use them all you have to do is screw in the threaded rod with the rod holder.

thanks to all who replied. i have decided to go with scotty top mounts. can screw them right into the aluminum top cap on the transom. thanks again - tom
