Hello all,

I am a first time Nitro owner. Glad I found this site. :)

I just bought a used TF 170 single cowl for Musky fishing. I used to have quite a few rod holders on my old aluminum boat. There aren't any on this boat. What's the best way to mount rod holders on a boat like this? I was thinking of adding the "Ranger style" rail that Cabela's sells and mounting rod holders on that.

I'd love any suggestions or help. Thanks!

I love the Down East Salty Rod Holders for Musky fishing. BassPro has them for about $40.00 each I think. The clamp on's have two sturdy bolts to clamp the holder to the gunnel. The places we fish musky have lots of floating weeds and with these rod holders we can mount them so the rod tips are down in the water. Without your tips in the water, the weeds catch your line and slide down to the crankbaits. When weeds catch the rod tips we simply pick them up, shake off the weeds and reset them. They do make permanent mounts also.
