Thinking about adding the above to my Tracker 175 TXW. I know I will have to add another 12V battery. I need some advice on how the additional battery needs to be wired in order for the 24v.

Pictures would be great

TIA for any help,

Mike

So I finally ordered the above trolling motor, It will be here on the 31st. I know I have to get another battery, wire it like described above. Will I need to replace the plug at the bow and do I need to install/upgrade the breaker?

As always TIA,
Mike

as long as its 8 ga and 50 amp breaker you're good. If it was a 12 volt 55ft lb then I'd make sure it was 6ga wire and 60 amp breaker. 24v doesn't make such as hard a demand on the wiring as 12v does.

Air Force-thanks, I'm replacing the standard 45 ft lb one that came on the boat. I went by the local tracker dealer yesterday after work. They told me, the only thing I need to do is purchase another battery. I will be sure to check the breaker size when I add the new battery, already have a three bank charger on board.

I'm looking forward to the install... :D

Edit: I looked this morning, already have a 50 Amp breaker, just need a battery tray and a battery.

You are correct just read the install manual and it does say 60amp breaker, unless the wire is rolled up somewhere, boats only 17.8 ' long. I should be ok with the 8ga wire. I'm not positive what gauge it is.

wish I could replace my Terrova iPilot. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but a couple months after I bought it, the iLink system came out. Couldn't see spending another $800 for the upgrade, when buying a Terrova with it factory installed costs $310 more. Now that I've upgraded my locator from Lowrance to a HB 898, I REALLY wish I had an iLink version. IF I wasn't on a disability retired income, there would be no doubt at all I'd be installing an Ulterra. Sure wish there was some sort or upgrade/trade-in program.........hint, hint Greg..LOL

I didn't purchase the Ilink. I've got a ray marine dragonfly at the console and a Lowrance 5 HDI up front. I heard many horror stories (no first hand experience) about that feature from numerous boat pro's.

Thanks Greg, I'll take a look. Local boat shop told me today that they use the stock wiring on the new trackers, for 36Vo_O

Just confirmed a rumor I heard today that 2014 trackers came with 6 awg wire. I was pleased.

Well, I got the Terrova Ipilot installed, really had no issues other than the pedal doesn't fit in the pan. I put a temporary cover over it and just put the pedal on top.

Headed out this morning to give it a try.

Between thunderstorms and high lake wind advisories, I am staying in. Best of luck to those that can get out.

Don,
Didn't catch ****, but I love the trolling motor. It has an anchor feature that keeps you within 5 feet of your desired location.
May go back out tomorrow, depends on the wind.

Mike

I haven't had any luck either. My son is in from the Bahamas for a week so I will not get to go out until next week.
With the way the wind is I don't think I am missing anything.

Agree, the wind has been horrible. I'm going to try and get out Saturday. Got the adapter cable for my Lowrance FF to enable the us2 transducer on the min kota. Want to give it a try, not expecting much out it though.

Where did you mount the heading sensor?
