livewell areator question

2011 z6-- when i turn my main areator on to fill it, it fills the livewell fine. then when i turn it to auto it works but keeps filling up, and it will not work when im out of the water. i thought the areator works whenever its in or out of the water.the boat is still new to me and have not figured it all out yet, the recirculater works fine.

Greg, on my boat the aerator is used to fill the well. It will run until it is turn off unless you have a timer.My well has an overflow pipe that allows water to exit the well while pumping in fresh water with the aerator. The aerator draws water from the lake, it will not work when out of the water. Your recirculate should still work when out of the water with a well full of water. I think i'm correct on this information, at least that is how it is on my boat. Someone will correct me if i'm wrong. Hope this helps.
