I have decided to put hydraulic steering on the boat but have ran into a problem. I have all the old cables out and new cables in and now the only part left to do is to mount the new helm. I have a nitro 06 482 with 150 and the hole in the dash is the right size for the new helm but the screw holes that hold the helm to the dash will be extremely close to the main hole, there for not sure if it will be safe to go ahead and mount the helm and hope that it works. I have also ordered a mounting kit and it will not fit in the design of the dash. So any info or experience would greatly be appreciated???

If your concerned about the integrity of the holes and can't fill them to make it solid. I would suggest that get an alumiium plate cut to go on the back of the console so the helm bolts through both the console and plate.
