Glenn,I noticed an aerlier post about spincast reels.Have you looked at the Omega? They come in 2 sizes to fit smaller hands. It is a very well built reel with brass gears and machined alumiun frame. Right or left handed.They have them on some combo's but the rods are not much.You can see all the specs at zebco.com. If I can help you out let me know.

I have tried the Omega's and found them to be cheap quality. Just my .02 worth, Jim

Thanks for the info. My wife picked up one the other day, turned the handle, and put it back down. I don't think she liked it, as she didn't say a word or handle it for any amount of time. Normally when she finds something she likes, she will hand it to me and ask "what do you think of this?".
