I never fished with the jig and pig and was wondering if you had any tips for getting the smallies on Champlain. I just stocked up on some Strike King Pro Model and Bitsy Bug Jigs along with their pork trailers. Last week, I brought a real nice smallie (guessing at 4 - 5lbs) to the boat and lost it when she went underneath the boat. I was using a Risto Rap in shad color. There is a lot of bass in Champlain and I'm trying to get the hang of it. I've been picking up some largemouths in Keeler Bay and smallmouths around Savage Island. I got skunked at Ball and Burton Islands last Friday. Thanks for any tips and tricks you can give me. BoB G.
