Something was said to me today that got me thinking about this site.

Almost 5 years ago I posted my first message on this board, and 4 years ago I became a member. I, like many on this site, have learned quite a bit about what it takes to be a boat owner and a fisherman, even a person. Most of us are just looking for general info, some for advice on complicated tasks.

We have all shared our problems and happiness as if we were co-workers, friends or family. Rob had his stories and pink thongs, Stacie had hers, Chris had his, and most were worked out with some advice and help from this board.

Tempers seem to flare here more often than not lately. It's sad to see that such a great site has unravelled (sp?) over the last year or so. I'm getting lonely being the only TV18 owner here now a days

I had the oppotunity to meet a member of this board today. He has only posted once or twice and is two states away from me. He went 5 hours out of his way to stop and look at my boat and it was all due to this site. It was a pleasure to meet you today Pete (if you're out there).

I say it's time to put aside our differences and get this site going again. If you have something to say, say it.

My $.02

I haven't noticed a whole lot of tempers flaring....this site seems to be one of the calmest and coolest that I visit.

I remember LaMoist getting pissed one time when someone shaved his eyebrow when he came to visit the MVM!!!

You should have seen it in the old days!!:p People getting banned, personal attacks etc., now I like a little heat once-in-a-while but we have been very good members lately......who wants to start something???:D:D:D

TOXIC

The board has been a bit dull lately!!!

I have met and talked with many a good person as a result of this board, through this board and the common thread that it represents, i have met a few of my closest friends (as sad as that may be) LOL... Rich almost had enough of the fussin and fightin', almost came close to shutting this site down. If you want discord and fighting, you have the BASH page... if you want a good deal of information, a little banter amoung friends,a unlimited wealth of boating and fishing knowledge, you have it here.

People have ran themselves away from this board, they have thier personal reasons for not posting.. you can bet that they are lurking... pride is a hard thing to overcome sometimes!

This place has it's high's and lows... we are in a low right now... we need somebody new to pick on... That's what Hammer said!!

Just my thoughts... KB

And who asked for your opinion, punk???

Always gotta add your 2 cents to everything.....why dontcha just shut yer yapper and mind yer own bidness.

Is that better???

Hey....look in the surgeon thread...we got some drama brewing.

Guys, I remember the old days, and I guess that was kinda my point. It's time to bring those days back (without getting banned  )

Ok, tempers may not be "flaring", but they just aren't getting posted either :p

Man - I think I know what did it Bruce - King Tin went to the Dark Side!!! Everything is seen through Glass now!!! BBWWWAAAAAAA

Heck if it wasen't for this site, i'd still be King Tin!! Of course there wouldn't have been a 2004 Rally to Crown me, so that would have stunk! I never would have met Steve R., Bob G, Terry, and all the rest of the miscreants on this site, and would not have a 5lb 13 inch fish hanging in my office!!

You talkin' to me!!!!!

Or that Hammmer Knucklehead.. the no fishin, hole jumpin' so called GUIDE on Anna!!!

Neeley - MAN you were right on that surgeon Thread, I hope I juiced it up a bit!! LOL!!

Watched KB or i'll come up there and fish your chit!!

I sometimes wonder if we all aren't like a huge collective married couple. We've all talked about the merits of tin vs. glass, mono vs. braid, and Bomber vs. Bandit. We talked about were to hold the rally until we just gave up.... sort of like my wife and I trying to decide what color to paint the living room. I always enjoyed some of the old controversies. Sure, tempers flared but I don't remember seeing any blood. Rember the nutcases with the goofy seat? That was a good one. I sometimes think we take all this too seriously. I do enjoy the friendships I have made here....some with people I'll never meet and a few I see on a somewhat regular basis.

Getting harder to start a good argument these days.............

I can tell everyone this... This place has gone from being "just a website" for me. I look forward to seeing the words from my friends... I see Tox and TJ once a year but when I do it's like we just left off "yesterday"... And, there are others... Neeley will always be my preferred "roomie" (as long as he remembers bourbon or shrooms)... And, although Staci is not here... I e-mail often and trade info on another site... Only Trepper has ever caused me to hold a grudge... he chose family over me and I shall forever be psycho-damaged from teh rejection...LOL When I and others posted here to Chris (CJL), that if he needed someone there he would have a stream of visitors I knew that it was more than idle chatter. This site has fostered true friendships and created a big family "supper table" for us to unload our cares and share our joys... I hope it remains what it is... And, now, to get a real jump on matters... Morning Uncle Billy!!!

Glass boats suck! Tin rules! BruceY, now I'm hurt. As another TV-18 owner I feel slighted because after five years I've been on the site you don't even pay enough attention to what boats other members own. Shame, shame.:p:p:p

I agree with Greg Meyer, I actually look froward to signing on to this site every day. I haven't noticed any real "issues" on here in a long while, and to be honest I hope the problems stay away.

I do look at this as one big family. We've seen each other through deaths, births several illness's (past and presant), weddings, etc. I remember when we were forced to put my dad in a nursing home first and then on to a assisted living facility. Several of you prayed for my dad and my family and offered support, encouragement and suggestions. That's when it hit me that this is way more than a web site.

I just hope that one day we can have another rally somewhere, if for no other reason than for those of us that never got to attend one to come and meet you guys.

Bruce - I remember, it's just been so long since I've seen anything about your boat :D

And how many Bruce's do we have anyway?

Man, I got hooked on this site when I read about the boat ramp fight, and the bikini clad lady being ticketed by DNR for having no fishing license. No offense Rusty, that thread was good drama.

Heck, if Neeley quits posting those convict looking fisherman holdin fish pictures, I might even let my kids look in.

But don't forget those famous words from a wise man years ago "Can't we all just get along?"

Guys:

I joined this board about a year or so ago. As a result, I missed the "old days" where there were fights, etc. Frankly, I'm GLAD this board is calm. I've gotten some great info from folks here (about fishing!) and met some wonderful people including Bill in VA, Carlos, KB, and even Toxic!! I heard from Bill how Tox got his nickname, got to share my own stories and even caught a bass or two (still waiting on catching my FIRST 5+ pounder!). So IMHO, leave the board as is! No sense is stirring up trouble. Heck, I LEFT the BFHP because of some of the not-so-friendly characters there (just mention that you have a Tracker and stand back!).

Hoping to meet more NTOWS in the future!

Tight lines,

JC

Nothing personal but the vast majority of posts here are still fishing, boating, trailers, towing vehicles, etc.. We don't need another board. Everytime something is posted here there is a "category" you must select that separates the topics. Just look at them and don't look at what doesn't interest you. It's that simple. The message titles also give you a very good idea of what is going on. Again, don't read it if it doesn't appeal to you. I explained the "Good Mornin'" posts in another thread a couple of days ago. They really helped me out when I was going through tough times and I still don't see anything wrong with saying Good Mornin' to my friends. And a lot of the people here are just that, my friends.

If I was Rich Stern and was going to change anything it would be that you have to log on to post anything. Again, nothing personal but I was a little irritated with your post Brian. If I don't like something I don't participate and I don't know why others do. As I said in another thread. When this board is just fishing and boating, I'm gone. And I bet a lot of others are too.

I have only been on this site for less than a year. I have checked out many sites and this is the only one I have stayed with. Maybe because I have a TV-18 and feel part of the Tracker family or just because of the characters that are on here each day. I do not post a lot but do read them daily. This is like my extended bass club. When I first joined my club it was fight after fight and now after some careful bassmembercide I now belong to a club that is nothing but fun. As with my club I can truly say that I would fish with any of you. Remember that this site is about fishing, and when was the last time you went out fishing with a friend and only talked about fishing? Keep the site the way it is.:p

Rich Stern, this is a great site, and thanks to you for starting it. I would probably pay to stay a part of this. Wait a minute, Rich you didn't see that did you?

Thanks to all the sponsors who help to keep it going also.

Because of this site: I can now grease up my own trailer bearings, keep my batteries fresh with "only distilled water", start my motor by banging on the starter with a hammer, and laugh at a guy named "TrepMan" kill himself while trying to bend a piece of plastic in his livewell.:)

One big happy family, with a few crazy uncles thrown in to make it interesting.:D

It wasn't fights in "the old days" just open discussions. Tempers didn't flare, no one called anyone out or started personal attacks. It was a much smaller group and the different opinions were accepted easier. That is all.

Hey All,

I noticed my name posted a couple times in this thread something about drama? LOL

All I can say is that this site is great, sure I have had some issues with some posts, I feel those issues were resolved quickly and I have taken away something good for myself with discussing them here. I may have rubbed people the wrong way with my responses to humor, It got out of hand, I already said I was sorry, and I hope not too many people hold it against me. Enough on that.

Second thing is, yup " CJL" has some very serious issues to deal with at the home front, inmaterial to others, like failing health and loss of loved ones. But nonetheless they are serious to me, and I will always be grateful for the majority support I have received and continue to get from this board. Perhaps the two issues I have already discussed are comingled and would explain my inability to take a joke,.

The current problem I have, is not resloved as of yet, that's why I have not posted anything on it. There has been no conlusion and my Mom:wub: taught me a long time ago to "Not say anything at all, if I don't have anything good to say".

I sure wish I could share what's going on, I don't think it is wise, the outcome is not clear, my family and I are still in a unfavorable position. I hope to hell one day I can say, "everything is back to normal guys", Fatrap posted last year that I would be better off moving although it would bother me for long time, knowing we gave up our home, well that feeling is alive and present. I will however take the advice of a newer member "Arraon" and make the new house a home.

I typed up a huge posting last week of the "Court" things that took place, but felt I may air-out my problems here too much and could also be used against me if someone got there hands on it and put a twist in it.

I have been very busy lately with everything going on at home and work, and have not participated as mush as before. But still reading the board daily.

This board is great, just my 2 cents.

You could always pick a fight with me, but be careful, my wife is a known criminal and according to some, I am very well connected. ;)
