engine swap

I was considering swapping out my 90 hp 2008 mercury for a 125 hp mercury opti, just wondering if the performance gain is worth the money it will cost. My boat is a 2005 Nitro 700lx sc ,any input would be appreciated

I have a 2001 700 lx and I swaped out my 90 2stroke classic for a 115 opti. If I could do it again I would put a 115 pro xs instead. There is about the same prop shaft HP between a 125 opti and a 115 pro xs and the 115 gets better mpg. As far as performance goes I went from 49 top speed to 53 and I imagine with the pro xs I'd be around 55.

I appreciate your input and I am seriously considering the swap. Right now I fish locally with my club ,but i would like to start fishing some bigger tournaments and i think the extra horsepower will be needed in order to compete on bigger water against against much faster boats . I need all the help I can get. haha
