I have a 1996 170 DC rick clunn nitro bass boat on a single axle trailer. I want to replace the axle. How do I find out what axle I need? Thanks for the help!

Had the same boat/trailer, the axle is the minimum and bows too much under the weight of the boat. I replaced mine with a custom 3500lb axle, no more tire wear issues and rode much better behind the truck. I think the stock axle was rated at 1600 lb. Got it out of Florida for $230.00. A local trailer shop ordered for me. I would not replace the current one with another from tracker. Oh yeah, springs are cheap so I would replace those at the same time.
