Another power Trim Question

When I go to check my Power trim my 2012 Opti 150XL, I understand I raise the motor all the way and remove the cap and make sure the fluid is level with the top of the fill hole. Will the motor stay in the up position when I remove the fill cap? I'm not sure how the motor stays up. thanks, Sean
